Operation Forager, conducted on the Marianas Islands and Palau in the Pacific, was a successful strategic offensive that allowed for the United States to shift the momentum in the battle against Japan and the axis powers, in favour of the allied forces in World War II.

As the 47th release in a 56 coin series, this 99.9 pure silver coin commemorates the tribute that was built upon the Island of Saipan in the Northern Marianas Island.

The monument is a tribute to the 4,000 American soldiers and local inhabitants who perished in this battle.
