Taekwondo is a Korean form of martial arts focused on punching, kicking and self-defense techniques. It began after World War II with new martial arts schools called "kwans" opening in Seoul. Taekwondo became an unified sport throughout the years, spreading around the world and becoming an Olympic sport in 2000.
