Triple Maple returns in 2026 with a striking addition: black rhodium plating that offers maximum contrast. On this 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin, the plating forms a satin black backdrop that lets the maple leaf arrangement by retired Senior Engraver Stan Witten take centre stage. Emerging from the darkness in quiet brilliance, the leaves’ contours catch the light in sculptural relief—a luminous reminder of nature’s beauty in its purest form.
Your coin is encapsulated and presented in a black Royal Canadian Mint-branded clamshell with a black beauty box.
A new Triple Maple design feature in 2026, black rhodium plating offers maximum contrast. It fills the field on both sides of this matte proof coin, allowing the maple leaves to radiate understated elegance.
The maple leaf arrangement was created, photographed, sketched, and then sculpted by retired Senior Engraver Stan Witten, who was inspired by fallen leaves in his backyard. Triple Maple reflects Stan’s passion for his craft and his love of nature, which shaped his vision and approach to sculpting maple leaves during his 35-year career.
Acer saccharum, the sugar maple, is arguably the most famous maple tree in Canada—it’s the preferred species for maple syrup production, and it’s abundantly found in our eastern forests.
The Royal Canadian Mint is known as one of the most reputable mints in the world. The Ottawa Branch of the Royal Mint opened in 1908 and was renamed The Royal Canadian Mint in 1931 when control was transferred to the Canadian government. Their high standards for excellence and quality allowed them to be the first refinery to manufacture 9999 fine gold bullion coins in 1982, as well as the first to reach 99999 fine gold purity in 1998.
Triple Maple, now with black rhodium plating.
