2026 KOOKABURRA DESIGN
The coin’s reverse design depicts an image of the famous bush bird in flight over a river, framed by lush trees and rugged rocks. The bird and outer ring of the coin are gilded in 24-carat gold. The reverse also includes the inscription ‘KOOKABURRA’, The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, and the coin’s weight, purity and 2026 year-date. The coin has been struck with an extra-deep blank to showcase its superbly detailed design in high relief.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint's 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970.
