The character of Spiderman first appeared in 1962 in the final issue of the Amazing Fantasy series. The issue sold so well Spiderman was given his own series, with The Amazing Spider Man #1 being released as a March 1963 edition. Spiderman has gone on to be one of the most popular superhero characters in print, on T.V. and in movies.

The reverse of this coin features Spiderman crouched down and at the ready. Both of his hands look prepared to shoot webbing, and the background is filled with a web that appears attached to the rim of the coin.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT
