Centuries ago, mighty Royal Beasts stood guard at Hampton Court Palace, watching over Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour. Many believed the unicorn also represented purity and fertility, so by giving the beast to Jane Seymour, the king perhaps hoped their marriage would be blessed with a son and heir.
