COAT OF ARMS DESIGN

The 2023 Australian Citizenship coin portrays the Commonwealth Coat of Arms. Comprising the Commonwealth Star above a shield consisting of the badges of the six states, the coat of arms includes representations of golden wattle, Australia’s floral emblem, and two native animals – the kangaroo and emu. Included on the coin’s reverse is the inscription AUSTRALIAN CITIZENSHIP and The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark.

AUSTRALIA-THEMED PRESENTATION CARD

The coin is presented in a coloured display card featuring the Australian flag and a representation of the five stars of the Southern Cross constellation. Incorporating a certificate of authenticity, the card features a fold-out stand for upright display.

ABOUT THE PERTH MINT

The Perth Mint opened in 1899 as the British Royal Mint’s 3rd branch in Australia. The historical Hay Street location handled gold refining until moving to a modern facility in April 1990. Ownership of the mint was transferred to the Government of Western Australia in July of 1970. Under an agreement with the Commonwealth Treasury, they were empowered to mint and market gold, silver, and platinum as Australian legal tender to investors and collectors worldwide.
